New CD Release: SEE THE FLAME By The Group Kumanu

Aloha! The Performing and Fine Artists for World Peace represents individuals of all ages who support our mission and programs. We are artists, educators, organizers, and community members from Hawai'i, the mainland United States, and other countries.

Our mission is to work with others to bring positive change to our community in Hawai`i and around the world. We believe that artists can and do make a difference in the communities in which they live. We have been truly inspired by the many talented musicians, singers, dancers, actors, poets, and fine artists that have worked with us over the years.

Our website shares some of the projects that we have sponsored since our creation in 1986. One of our most successful programs is Earth-Friendly Schools, which focuses on youth carrying out environmentally friendly actions. Another program that has affected change in Hawai`i is We Are `Ohana-Songs of Hope, which uses music to address the issue of substance abuse and addiction.

The non-profit organization Recycle Hawai`i recently partnered with us on a number of programs. These include Artists and the Environment , Earth Patriot, Earth-Friendly Schools and Keeping It Green Hawai`i. These programs focus on environmental issues such as global climate change, the use of alternative energy and sustainability. They also promote respect for other cultures especially that of indigenous peoples. These programs are aimed at reaching out to youth to motivate them to take action to address these and other issues.

We believe that many of you will find the See The Flame CD of interest. Recorded by the music group Kumanu, their "global fusion music" reflects their multi-cultural background and diverse musical styles and is a positive take on a world facing global environmental and social problems.
